As a KC native, I had a difficult time finding a truly authentic African restaurant until now. I never knew Angie’s was located here because it was so deep in the cuts, but I’m so glad I discovered it! From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming, and it felt like home. The fufu and soup were delicious, with just the right amount of spicy, just like I wanted. I also ordered the Acheke with fried whole tilapia, fried plantains, and vegetables. Everything was freshly made and you could tell she took her time cooking this. Oh my gosh! As a true native Ivorian-Liberian, I can tell you that this woman can cook! Everything was seasoned perfectly and full of flavor, right down to the pepper sauce. I will definitely be coming back, Angie, and thank you for making me feel at home!

I was in Nigeria last year and had bangs soup for the first time, so seeing it on the menu online I had to try this restaurant out. It was sooooo good, meat pies were so fresh and tasty, and that red snapper was magically delicious. We’re here at the HARRAH’S casino but will definitely be back

I enjoyed every bit of it all... my only criticism is the portion of chicken (just a drumstick) in the chicken meal. I will go back because the food with the pepper sauce was amazing, and they go out of their way to accommodate our order. I applaud them for that. Thank you, Angie for your hospitality.

I didn’t know what to expect but this place is incredible!!! If you’re not a spicy food person, her meat pies are AMAZING! But I also had the okra soup and fufu, and it was so good! The atmosphere is kinda like being at a cousin’s house. And they take care of you like family! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Absolutely delicious! Just the right amount of spice, great flavor! Was the first time my girlfriend and I had Liberian or west African food in general. I got the okra soup with chicken and fufu. Girlfriend got Jollof Rice with chicken. Both were great! Will be coming back next time we are in Kansas City. Service was good young man who waited on us was very friendly explained what fufu was and how people eat with it and how it’s made.

Today was the first time my friends and I visited this restaurant. We had Fufu with Okra soup, Fufu with Goat Pepper Soup, Fried chicken Rice and Beans, and Meat Pies. I've eaten this food before but for my friends it was their first time ever so it was a chance to try something new. The owner and her team were great and the food was amazing. We were so happy about the flavor and quality of everything. The owner even took us a sample of the soup to try and asked if we would like it spicier. Other workers checked on us every now and then to make sure we were comfortable while we waited. My friends and I are very excited to come back another time. Thank you!

The food is really good. The Egusi didn't taste like Egusi though. I want to taste the Cassava Leaf/Potato Greens since I know that the lady is Liberian. The place is painted beautifully but all the tables are dirty and broken. The online prices are wrong. The good is very expensive.

First time trying fufu and egusi and I must say I was thoroughly impressed, from the service of the host to the delivery of the meal... Everything was on point and executed efficiently. They taste of the meal being a 10/10 was litteraly the icing on the cake. I went and tried the same meal at another restaurant and it did not come anywhere close in comparison to Angie’s.
